Elevated Station Facade Cleaning Made Easy | Wisson's Fanxi® High-Rise Curtain Wall Cleaning Case Study

The Tianjin Metro Jinjing Line, which commenced operations in late 2024, includes elevated stations. During winter and spring, accumulated dust and rainwater stains significantly soil the white aluminum plate edges and transparent glass facades, detracting from visual appeal and passenger experience. To address this, Tianjin Rail Transit Group recently deployed Wisson Technology's Fanxi® robotic service to clean the exterior facades of multiple stations.

Pain Points Addressed
The curved glass facades on both sides of elevated station platforms are surrounded by dense steel frameworks, posing challenges for traditional manual cleaning: limited mobility in confined spaces, low efficiency, and high safety risks. Additionally, manual operations could only occur during nighttime service suspensions, when poor visibility compromised quality. Wisson's AP3-P3 Flexible Tethered Cleaning System excelled in this scenario, leveraging its "zero-distance" collision resistance and flexible, full-coverage cleaning capabilities to overcome manual limitations, delivering efficient and high-quality results.

Achievement Highlights

  • 40% Efficiency Improvement: Compared to manual operations.

  • 30% Cost Reduction: Achieved through robotic automation.

  • Safety Risks Eliminated: Zero human exposure to hazardous environments.

  • Quality Assurance: Cleaning results met expectations and passed Tianjin Rail Transit Group’s inspection.

This case underscores how Wisson’s Fanxi® robotic service, powered by Pliabot® Flexible Technology, effectively resolves complex high-altitude cleaning challenges while advancing the standardization and application of UAV-based operations in urban infrastructure maintenance.
